Common Questions
What do the indicator lights on my Hero mean — one keeps flashing or spinning?
The Hero has status lights that should become solid once it's connected. A spinning or flashing light generally means it's still searching for a network. If the lights won't go solid, it may be on a weak carrier — restart and let it re-scan.
My Hero is stuck on "Searching" and won't connect — what should I do?
Power it off, wait about 30 seconds, and power it back on so it can re-scan. It attaches to whichever partner carrier is strongest nearby, so if it's still searching, moving location or letting it re-scan often finds a working tower. If it stays stuck, contact Support.
I connect to the Hero but it says "sign-in required" or shows a login page — how do I get online?
Connect your phone or laptop to the Hero's Wi-Fi, then complete the sign-in through the SIMO app or the device's login page. If you see a carrier message (for example a Cricket captive page) or "no signal", have the device re-scan for a different network.
Should I upgrade from my Solis Lite to the Hero, and can I move my plans and day passes over?
The Hero adds a larger battery/power-bank and can be worth it for heavier or longer trips. Support can transfer your existing plans and day passes from the Lite to the Hero, so you won't lose data you've already bought.
Can I use the Hero in China (for apps like WeChat Pay or AliPay), and do I need a VPN?
The Hero provides an internet connection in China. Whether a specific app or payment service works depends on the app and the region rather than the hotspot, so for some services you may still need a VPN.
